Creating Worlds Giveaway Reminder

Just a reminder that the first Creating Worlds Giveaway is still going on.
You have until this coming Sunday to enter!

Andrew Thornton posted his word of the week Monday; very fitting with our current theme: "ancient." Everyone is encouraged to create things with this word in mind and then share them, posting to blogs and leaving links in comments on his original post.

I received my packet from Rings&Things earlier this week; I won it for free as a blog partner in their monthly drawing. Some real pretties in there, as you can see below. I loved the brass flower charms and paper beads right away. The lime howlite slabs, however, struck me as rather ostentatious. I put them out on my table, though, and the more I look at them, the more I like them. They remind me of exploring ocean tide pools or river seaweed where I grew up. I think they would be lovely paired with fish charms or mermaids. Now I can't wait to try them out in a design! It also makes me want to hop over there and see what other sorts of nifty colors they have these in...

I also received the amazing brooch I won in the monthly drawing over at Emerald Window! Cenya is a very talented bead embroiderer and I am absolutely tickled to now possess one of her unique creations. It's even more glorious in person; the tiny red seed beads catch the light like Dorothy's ruby slippers. This is definitely a treasure!

She also sent me the sweetest note!

There are many things I have yet to share with you. I've been working up a storm over here. Will be passing those along soon, but for now, an inspirational quote:

"Never will the short space of years contain all of a person's imagination; the incomplete joys of this world will never be enough for the heart. Alone among all beings, people display a natural distaste for existence and an immense desire to exist: they despise life and fear oblivion. These different instincts incessantly urge their souls toward contemplation of another world..."

Thanks for the kind words about the brooch you won. I love the bit about Ruby Slippers. I hadn't thought of that. But it is better in person, Yes? I have a hard time photographing red.
