New Leaf Pendant Necklace

I am continuing to experiment with these polymer clay pendants and acrylic paints. I finished a second one over the long weekend and am satisfied with the result, though the color scheme is not as seductive as the first, if you know what I mean. ;)

This time brass chains were used to augment the texture. This technique has become very popular in the magazines and how-to books I've been looking at and it's something I've been wanting to try. Some jasper beads from the Dream Beads store in Watertown, NY, were perfect with their crackled features and autumny colors, so three of those got worked into the design as well.

The darkness of the antiqued brass lends a nice feel to it, and the entwining chains are almost like vines or tree roots. I love designing pieces I would like to wear. :)
